What Are Our Possibilities at This Time?

Picture
On Sunday, March 29th, the Baja 4 Sunday Service (CLICK HERE to view), posed this question:
" What possibilities and opportunities are arising for you in these times?"
Here we have the opportunity to share our responses and hear from one another.  What are the possibilities that you are finding and the opportunities that you are making happen?

They can be websites to share, books you are reading, poems that you have found (or written),  brief personal reflections, or... well, the possibilities are a limitless as our shared imagination.

Medtainment.com

"Meditation That Takes You Places" is a great guided meditation series that transports you to a seashore, a mountain cabin, a desert oasis, a city park, a tropical island, etc. via 20-minute meditations. I've seen my blood pressure drop by 20-30 points in 20 minutes! During these stressful times, the series is being offered free of charge."

Bookshop.org

"It pays a portion of sales proceeds to independent bookstores (more than $149,000 so donated so far in only its first few months of operation.)" - Victor Pollak

Reflecting & Reprioritizing

"Two things stand out for me:
1, Finding new ways to connect with people -- writing notes and letters, including pictures or quotations.

2. Observing more closely and appreciating all of nature: our magnificent trees, the cacti about to burst forth with their gorgeous blooms, the scampering rabbits and quail, the uplifting songs of the birds, and so much more!"
-Jean Richon
Yoga with Adrianne
"In the back of our minds we hear the muffled voice of Matthew reminding us to engage in the practice of taking 10 deep breaths of Gratitude each day at 10am.

During this time of self confinement, we have taken up a daily yoga practice on YouTube. The stay at home edict has been extremely motivating in helping us commit to something we have wanted to practice for a long time now. Not only are we faithfully practicing a yoga regimen, we are taking in our “10 breaths of Gratitude” on a daily basis which is part of the practice, along with a “coming to intention” at the beginning of the sessions.

Just in case anyone else might be interested in this yoga practice, you can find it on YouTube by searching for “Yoga with Adrianne.”  - Teri Lopez

CONNECTION AND CREATIVITY IN CHALLENGING TIMES: WRITING PROMPTS

These opportunities are via Facebook with leader Cristina Raskopf Norcross. It's set up so that you ask to join the group, then get daily (weekday) writing prompts with an accompanying photo of a scene, image, painting, etc. You can send in your comments or pictures or simply do the journaling on your own.

The subjects vary...
how nature speaks,
what was your favorite year,
what are you making these days, what does a certain painting provoke...

"Here are just a few: organizing my stuff, reading my unread books, more frequent communication with family and friends, new scenic places to walk Coco, starting a How to Paint course I got on sale from Great Courses." - Diane Farone

Finishing a Javalina

"I just finished making this cute little fellow using fabric collage. Next I am making a cactus with a flower to go with him. I laid out the colorful cactus fabrics today. They were so delightfully cheerful that I forgot to worry about Coronavirus.

I’m looking forward to showing him in our gallery someday."
