Tuesday Truth: COVID Testing

This week we depart from our regular Tuesday Truth task, posing questions for our Members, Friends, and Guests to respond to, and turn to the reality that we face with each person on the planet, the COVID-19 virus.

Rev. Matthew has been sick recently with a symptoms that could parallel COVID-19. To be safe, he arranged to get tested. As the numbers of transmission rise nationally and here in Southern Arizona, he felt it was important to share information about his experience of  getting tested for COVID-19.

It is his hope that this page and the many links on it will be useful to you and yours through this pandemic.

Rev. Matthew's Testing Experience

Rev. Matthew's Test Results

In just over 24 hours, Rev. Matthew received his test results. As you can see below (edited to remove personal information), the results were positive. Rev. Matthew had contracted the virus.

In response, he spent the evening contacting those he had been around over the last few weeks irregardless of the social distancing practices. He informed our Board, contacted our team that put together our COVID policy and guidelines, and notified Baja 4 colleagues. As he stated in the video, he had stayed away from BUU when he first suspected exposure. So, it was not a surprise that none of the people he contacted had experienced symptoms - including his family members.

Rev. Matthew will quarantine for two weeks and take steps to boost his immune system and address his cold-like symptoms.
