Borderlands Unitarian Universalist

COVID-19 Facility Safety Policy

Purpose
The purpose of the COVID-19 Facility Safety Policy is to establish guidelines for protection of the health and safety of all persons working at or visiting the Borderlands Unitarian Universalist (BUU) facility and property in Amado, AZ, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Basis in Faith
Our congregation covenants to care for the long-term well-being of each other and our community.  We are acting to protect us all and to preserve our beloved community.  This is an action expressing our love.

Who
This policy applies to everyone who is physically present on BUU’s property in Amado.  This includes but is not limited to BUU members, friends, visitors, Minister, staff, partners, workers, and renters.

Where
This policy applies to the entirety of the BUU property, whether indoors or outdoors.

What
A face mask must be worn over both mouth and nose at all times while on BUU property, both indoors and outdoors.

Social distancing of 6 feet or more must be maintained at all times while on BUU property, both indoors and outdoors.  Household members and healthcare assistants may be closer, provided that they wear masks over both mouth and nose at all times.

Persons who have tested positive for COVID-19, or who have been exposed to anybody who has tested positive for COVID-19, or who have symptoms consistent with those of COVID-19, must notify the BUU Minister and may not visit BUU property until they are cleared of possible contagion.  Such notification shall be kept confidential.

When
This policy applies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, until such time as the BUU Board of Directors determines otherwise.

In the event that anyone using the BUU facility is found to have exposed the facility or users of the property to COVID-19, the Board of Directors, at its discretion, may restrict or close the BUU property to access until it deems it safe to reopen.

Exceptions
Within these restrictions we aspire to be a compassionate community.  Therefore, we include the following exceptions:

This policy does not apply to a resident of the Tiny House while he or she is inside the Tiny House.

The mask requirement does not apply to a staff member or Minister performing duties when no other people are present.

The mask requirement does not apply to anyone aged five years old or under.

Anyone with a medical reason for not complying with this policy should contact the Minister for consideration.
Approved by BUU Board of Directors, October 2020
